In the Western Hills

For those that don't know I spend most of my working week designing houses for a Napier based architectural practice: Architecture HDT ( http://architecturehdt.co.nz/ https://www.facebook.com/architecturehdt/)

Sometimes my areas of interest overlap when get to visit one of our projects and take some photos.

Last week I went out to a house west of Hastings that is nearly complete, to takes some photos of the finished areas.

Architecture HDT kindly agreed to allow me to share the photos, so a selection of them are shown below.

The house is designed to look like a farm house that has grown over time.  The left end in this shot is the kitchen and main bedroom, the middle is the living area and the right end houses the guest bedrooms.

The kitchen is a mix of traditional farmhouse and modern semi-commercial

The 'mud room' features a recycled concrete tub, with recycled taps, set into a cast in-situ bench top.

Living Room, with a verandah on 3 sides, is the heart of the house.
